Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception by Maggie Stiefvater

For the next few days, I am going to start on a Maggie Stiefvater book marathon. My partner really loves her books and I've always meant to get around to them. Well, now is that time to read them all and I decided to start from the beginning!
Lament is a really fun book. I enjoyed it a lot. It has a few tropes, like male best friend falling in love with female main character (which I did not enjoy one bit) and sometimes the main female could be annoying at times, but other than that, I really did enjoy reading this book.
Stiefvater's writing style is so easy to get into. It's simple which makes reading her books go quickly. I also love her sense of humor. She got a chuckle out of me from time to time and I really appreciated that. She also did her research about faeries and their lore. I was impressed to see her include music into her story. I really was very glad to read this book.
If you like books about faeries and don't mind a few tropes here and there, then give this a read. It's actually quite fun.
