Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell
I've been reading a lot of good books lately and this one is no exception. This is a beautifully told survival story about a girl name Karana. It tells of her struggles whilst living on the island alone with her animal companions and what she does to survive until rescue comes for her.
I really love how simply told this tale is. It's also based on a true story which makes me want to research into the topic more and when a book gets me interested in a topic, I know it's a good one. O'Dell has a simplistic writing style yet his knowledge in crafting items is vast! However, it's not overly complicated that you cannot follow how these items are being made.
I really did like this book and if you like survival stories then I think you should definitely check this one out!
