A Gift for Mama by Esther Hautzig
I love this book! This is a book I used to read over and over as a child. It's about a young girl who wants to prove to her mother and those around her that she is old enough to buy a gift for her mother instead of making it like she used to do when she was much younger. This book is written so sweetly, as if you are being read a bedtime story. It teaches children morals about working hard for what you really want in life. And this beautifully told story is accompanied by beautiful illustrations with a lot of details. I'm just in love with it.
I consider this to be among one of my favorite books that I've read growing up and I cannot recommend it enough! It's just so lovely.
